How to support pupils with SEND

Are your teachers and TA’s up-to-date on how to support pupils with SEND in the classroom? If not, then you need to know about CPD Bytes. Learn online at your own pace, in your own home, the time and cost efficient way.

Alasdair Andrew tells us more about the company he helped to found and what it can offer you and your teaching staff.

Why CPD Bytes?

Established in 2008 by Moira Thomson and myself whilst serving on the committee of Dyslexia Scotland South East, CPD Bytes is a Continuing Professional Development provider of high quality, interactive online courses. Our core courses are in understanding the teaching issues around Dyslexia, a vital need for all Primary and Secondary School teachers and teaching assistants. All course content is tailored to each area in the UK – England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, as well as our international courses being undertaken in 21 countries around the world.

A lot of the course content is provided by Moira Thomson, our Educational Director, who we are proud to say received an MBE in this year’s Birthday Honours List for her services to children with Dyslexia.

What do our students say about our courses?

“I did enjoy doing it and will certainly consider this form of learning in the future. It was a stress-free way of managing my CPD and also gaining knowledge which I could then discuss with fellow practitioners.” MB, Primary School Teacher

“This would be a great course for all staff. It is extremely accessible in terms of layout and delivery and specifically not full of jargon, which tends to put people off. A really useful course, one the most practical I have ever attended. Thank you.” SENCO, Lincoln

What other courses do we offer?

We also offer courses on developing leadership skills produced by Gordon J Ford OBE. and an exciting new short course on unravelling the mysteries of Tablets, smartphones and apps.

What is the style of training offered by CPD Bytes?

All our courses are based on presentations with video and weblinks to useful resources, fully referenced with recommended reading from the latest research findings. We host forums for all students on each course which provide the opportunity to interact directly with the course tutors and other students.
